Altered Vintage Trunk with Cross

My cross series was the very first work I ever designed. It has been over twenty-five years now and the cross is still very prominent in my work. I really do not consider myself very religious, more spiritual. I do believe in God and I have always felt great comfort in the symbols that acknowledge and show respect for his blessings. Again I am coming from a creative mind. Traditional they are not. Created with great respect in what they symbolize, yes. This particular piece has been created from a vintage trunk. The outline of the cross is constructed from individual collage pieces from vintage quilting patterns and sheet music. Incorporating repurposed and found objects.
