This piece was inspired after finding this tricycle buried in a pasture owned by my Uncle, Sunny Moore in Salado, Texas. On his property he has what we grew up as kids calling the boneyard.
It is full of old treasures that once were enjoyed and old farm equipment no longer working. Uncle Sunny is no longer with us but my cousin his son, Monroe Moore knowing my interest in found pieces invited me out to collect anything I might find of interest to incorporate into my works.
I am drawn to renew something that was once held and cherished for a time. It brought so much joy to a child and though fifty years sitting alone in a pasture it's red luster in color is no more. What is still very much alive is the symbol and passage we all share in life and that is your first set of wheels.....
