About Lisa's Work

I am the third generation in my family to pursue a career in the Arts. My work is defined as 2 dimensional mixed media collage. I incorporate vintage and handmade papers, found objects, plaster, clay, acrylics and original poetry. As you look through the gallery you will see that I use traditional canvases and wood as my background of my work. You will also see the use of vintage and found pieces as my canvas to create.

I have always found it so rewarding to renew something that someone has held on to and cherished throughout the years. It may no longer be in a functional state but it has an emotional connection to them. Like all of us there comes a time when we have to let things go. Instead of disposing of it , many donate their once treasures to venues that resale. I purchase these pieces at shops that are set up as non-profit only. All of their proceeds go back to the community to help those in need. For this reason please know that all of my works are one-of-a-kind.

In the last few years I have started writing prose and incorporating them into my work For me writing comes in waves. We have all sometime in our life struggled with an issue or had an event that had such an impact on our life that for me the process of understanding and remembering has been to write. When you read my words please know they come from my own experiences, but it is what we all experience in this journey and that is of Birth, Life, Love and Death.

My work is ever evolving and I think that is what excites me the most. What I have experienced in the life of an artist is that the rewards can be great when you let the ideas come and then just let the process happen. Regardless of the lack of knowledge or experience. I have never been able to reign in my desire to experiment with all types of creativity. I also know that I am blessed to have the opportunity to do so because of the love and support I receive from you that are closest to me. You make it possible for me to continue to put one foot in front of the other and share in my walk through life. You will forever be my greatest inspiration.
